What is your favourite retreat from the world?
Conferences and seminars are the only reason that I travel. I am content here in Las Vegas, Nevada, and, honestly I feel no need to spread my wings and take off. I work as often as I can, and quite often that involves long hours and many days per week. Yes, I will take a day off occasionally, but only when I need to in order to avoid people worrying about me, and getting angry with me because I’ve already used up my overtime for the month. I don’t like to travel, because, in most circumstances, I don’t see travel as a necessary thing that contributes to the smooth flow and working order of my daily life. I can do my work just as well, if not better, without taking holiday time off to go on a vacation to the Bahamas or to Hawaii. I like to concentrate, I like to maintain a schedule, I like to work and think. I do not, I repeat, do not, like alcoholic drinks with pineapple and little umbrellas, deck chairs, large crowded pools or gold digging single women. It’s not me, it’s not what I like, and it never has been, and never will. I find it utterly immoral, and, as such, depraved, that young girls can go around in skimpy bathing suits while their mothers try to reclaim their youth by doing exactly the same thing.
It’s not that I’m afraid of flying, going on a boat, or taking long car trips, it is just simply the fact that I completely and utterly lack the will, the want or the need to go on a vacation or a holiday. I have everything I need right here, a job, money, food, water and a roof over my head, on top of all of the others comforts and things of home, so why leave them when I do not, and, ultimately, can not, leave them. It’s illogical, and for asking such a thing, I must say, that you are, indeed, stupid. In fact, you are, quite stupid, quite stupid indeed. To put it straight, yes, to put it straight, I can not, and will not, leave this place for such an unnecessary, triviality of life. For a conference or a seminar that I need to attend, then, yes, I will travel, but for something such as a holiday or a vacation away from the place that I live in, I will not, and will never. It is how things go, and how things will go, for me, forevermore.
