What is your favourite thing to do to relax?
There is often not time in my life to spend relaxing. If I ever have spare time, I will usually spend it doing work related things or keeping my life outside of work in order. On my days off I pay bills, tend to the garden, cook and clean. I also keep up appearances my visiting some aging contacts of mine, an activity which I would most certainly not call relaxing. There is nothing relaxing about seeing someone who used to baby sit you sitting in a wheelchair staring vacantly into space. But, time moves on, people die, it’s not my fault, just merely my duty to make sure people only see what I want them to see. And I want people not to worry about me, so I go out and visit and sit down with those who have helped me in the past. It’s the least I can do, after all.
Yet, there do come times when I have attended to everything that needs attending do. I never have as much paperwork to do as Grissom, so whatever work I do have is quickly finished. So, when time appears in my busy schedule, for me to do something of a relaxing nature, there are things I will do. I drink, sometimes, I go out and dance, I read and do puzzles. I do a lot of relaxing things if and when I have the time to do them. I deal with death every single day of my life, whether I am at work or not, but I don’t let that affect me. I just move on, and if continuing means sitting down to watch the news with a glass of scotch, then I’ll do it.
